Basic Information

Name Meaning
The name Terrorwing comes from the tribe's reputation of being strong and fearsome, and their large size with many adaptations for combat.
Abilities
Terrorwings have very large wings. They can fly and glide for long distances without tiring as quickly, and soar to high altitudes that other tribes cannot reach.
On their wings, they have an extra "finger" that is useful for climbing cliffs, as well as for gripping prey and dragons.
They have an aerodynamic physique, allowing for fast flight. They are the fastest-flying tribe on the continent.
Their eyesight is very sharp. While flying at high altitudes, they can easily spot prey and other dragons down below.
Terrorwing feet and talons are specially adapted to grapple and maintain a grip on their prey and opponents.
Their mouth is beak-like, which aids in ripping apart flesh from their meals, and gives them a more painful bite.
Terrorwings have very hot fire, and are the only tribe on the continent to have it. This keeps them warm at colder altitudes, and provides an edge in combat.
Rarely, a Terrorwing will be born with firescales.
Animus
No animus Terrorwing has ever been recorded.
Weakness
Terrorwings are clumsy and awkward on land, and prefer to stick to the skies.
Their large size, paired with even larger wings, makes them struggle in more confined spaces.
They tend to be narcissistic, and their over-confidence may land them in situations that they cannot handle.
Terrorwings tend to be irritable, and are easily angered.
While they have good eyes during the day, they struggle to see in the dark.
They take pride in their wings. Damaging or losing them will render themselves useless in their own eyes, and many flightless Terrorwings fall into depression. Should one hope to ward off a Terrorwing attacker, they should go for the wings.
Dragonets take longer than the other tribes to mature, and they cannot fully fly until they are 6.
Diet
Terrorwings are omnivorous. While they are able to consume plant matter such as fruit, they primarily eat meat. They get their meat from sources such as sheep, buffalo, deer, fish, birds, etc.
Lately, they have taken a larger interest in seafood, such as whale and shark meat.
Appearance

Anatomy
Terrorwings are large, with lean, muscular bodies.
Their wings are massive compared to other tribe's wings.
Instead of one wing thumb, they have two large fingers.
When their wings are in resting position, they face downwards with their fingers on the ground.
Their chests are bigger to support their wings.
Their faces are narrow, with a spike on their nose and chin.
They have a sharp beak-like mouth.
Their horns are small, and point upwards with triangular horn segments.
Terrorwings can either have no crest or a crest. The sizes and shapes of these vary.
Down their spine are long, thin spikes.
Their front feet have long, sharp talons, along with a specialized thumb.
Their back feet have longer toes, with a toe behind the ankle (anisodactyl).
They have long, thin tails. Their tails do not create much drag as they are light. At the tips of their tails are a long, arrowhead shaped spike. These spikes are delicate, and are more so for display.
Terrorwing eggs are reddish-brown with white speckles. Dragons typically only have one egg per clutch.
Dragonets are fully able to fly around 6, but they don't mature until they are 8 years old.
Colors
No Terrorwing is neon, nor pure white or black. (unless located on their crest as an accent)
Their eyes can be bright, but not neon, as they are typically more dulled-down colors. Pupils are always black.
Their main body scales can be any shade of yellow, gold, orange, red, pink, brown, tan, and gray.
Wing membranes can be any color within their color range.
Their main scales typically do not fade into gradients.
Their underbelly scutes can be either lighter or darker than their main scales. They typically do not have gradients, but each individual scute may vary in color.
Talons are always black, or deep browns and reds.
Horns can be any color within their color range.
Inside of ears, gums, and tongue are usually soft, pale colors within their color range.
Crests are always the same base color as their top scales, and are always accented by another color. Accents can be any color, even outside of the typical color range.
Crests do not have a gradient, unless it is very subtle.
Teeth can be pearly white, or dirty yellow.

Habitat

Continent
Terrorwings live on the warm, rocky mountains on the continent of Auruvia's eastern shore.
Landscape
The Terrorwing territory is primarily composed of steep, rocky mountains with wide valleys and sheer cliff sides. In the valleys, one can find marshes, lakes, waterfalls, rivers, and lush forests.
The landscape cuts off on one side when it reaches the ocean, creating sharp cliff drops, gulfs, and small rocky islands.
Summers are hot, sunny, and dry. The winters are damp, often blanketing the cliffs in heavy fog, rather than snow.
Heading away from the ocean, the land begins to flatten into grasslands, eventually turning into savanna. While the savanna is not included in the Terrorwing territory, many dragons still fly out and hunt there.
Kingdom
Terrorwings build their structures out of materials found in their cliffs. This includes stone, granite, marble, and clay. Wooden structures are extremely scarce, as they are easily burned.
The palace is located on the peak of an extinct volcano. The volcano's top is crater-shaped from past eruptions, and has since filled with water to form a massive lake. In the middle of this lake sits the palace. A single bridge spans the lake, connecting the palace to the shore.
The palace has many floors, and is composed of tall spires that extend upwards into the sky. The top is commonly obscured in clouds. Inside, there are marble floors, large pillars, and decorations on the walls. The biggest room in the upper-middle is the queen's throne room.
Near the palace is a large, circular-shaped colosseum, with many rows of seating. It's a relatively new building, and is drab in color and decoration. The walls and sand of the fighting pit are stained a rusty color from unwashed blood.
Located underneath the colosseum is the prisons. The cells are dark and cramped, with barely any room for Terrorwing prisoners to stretch out their wings. It reeks of blood from the uncleaned fighting pit above, and many long-term prisoners have gone mad in the confined darkness.
Outside of the palace, architecture is very scattered, bland, and unorganized. Homes and shops line the crater, rest on cliffs, and dot the valley floors. Most homes tend to be on the larger size, as they do not have a class system, unless it's among royalty.
Plant-life
The oceanside and mountains support a wide variety of plant-life. Plants that can be found here include, but are not limted to: oak trees, woollythreads, maples, hibiscus, walnut trees, irises, birch, sunflowers, sage, poppies, willows, cholla cactus, sycamore, redwoods, a wide variety of pines and other conifers, shrubs, grasses, and ferns.
Animal-life
animals that can be found in the kingdom include, but are not limted to: osprey, chipmunks, hummingbirds, beavers, salmon, black bears, perch, snakes, elk, rabbits, herons, coyotes, lizards, pronghorn antelope, wolverines, river otters, big horn sheep, mountain lions, ducks, trout, deer, geese, hawks, buffalo, sea lions, and seagulls.

Duplicate names are completely fine! All we ask of you is to not use any names that Royalty have.
Beliefs
Terrorwings highly value strength and pride. Giving up or forfeiting is considered cowardly and dishonorable. Losing or dying in a fight is more honorable than fleeing.
Even young dragons are expected to be strong. Training for dragonets begins at a young age, and it's just as strict as it would be for adult dragons.
Terrorwings believe in the use of intimidation and fear tactics to get what they want from other dragons.
The more scarred a dragon is, the more respect they receive from their tribe. Many scars signify a dragon that has experienced and not backed down from a large number of battles.
Terrorwings consider themselves the superior tribe on Aurovia. Other tribes are inferior to them, and any outsiders on the territory should be dealt with as if they are an immediate threat.
They respect their own royalty above all else. A command from any member of the royal family takes priority, and must be carried out without any question.
Terrorwings are encouraged to take things for themselves, mainly resources. There are no hunting parties for the tribe as a whole, dragons must hunt for and take care of themselves.
They value physical training and combat strategy over general education. Terrorwings believe that knowledge will not help you on the battlefield, when one must rely on their own strength.
History
Terrorwings are long lost descendants of Skywings.
They have no knowledge of any other continents.
80 years ago, during the continental war, the Terrorwings were struggling the worst with famine. Terrorwings had no alliances, and fought with every tribe besides the Aurorawings. They were losing dragons faster than they could replenish them.
Out of extreme desperation, the tribe hunted far past their borders, into the jungle. They began to prey on the vulnerable, much smaller and more plentiful Mothwings. Hatchlings and young dragonets were caught in particular, as they had no wings and could not fly away.
Several queens ago, the Terrorwings were not as ferocious and arrogant as they are now. The royal lineage quickly became sour, as every queen had a goal for domination. One even went so far as to change the tribe's name: before they were known as Terrorwings, the tribe was called the Cragwings.
This desire among the queens for power was especially apparent during the war, when Queen Bushfire reigned. She wanted her tribe to be the strongest on Aurovia, and neglected basic needs of her dragons in order to force a militant lifestyle.
Generations of being forced to follow strict rules shifted the tribe's morals, earning them a reputation of being easily irritable, aggressive, and neglectful of their own needs in favor of upholding an image of strength and pride.
The tribe has since lost their once-reputable skills of fanciful architecture, now only doing the bare minimum in favor of using their time for military training. The last remaining elaborate work of architecture from the old ways is the palace.
Culture
Most of Terrorwing culture has been lost over the years, taken over by a more militaristic lifestyle.
Most Terrorwings parents hate seeing signs of weakness in their dragonets. Training for their children starts at a young age. It is expected of them to push their dragonets beyond their limits to test for weakness.
One such test is to toss the dragonet off the Cliff of Fledging, which is a cliff with a sharp drop down to the shore below. Most dragonets that are thrown off are years away from having their wings grown enough to fly, and die upon impact on the shore. Ones who survive are usually left crippled. They must climb their way back up the cliff, or be left to die. Dragonets with enough potential to pass this "test" are progressed on to further training.
Instead of burying their dead, Terrorwings burn the body on a high cliff away from the kingdom. Formerly, they believed the smell of burning flesh would ward away intruders, but now bodies are burned to conserve space. Only the most honorable dragons, such as royalty and generals, get to have an elaborate funeral pyre.
General is the highest rank a Terrorwing soldier may hope to reach. A General helps command the army, and assists in training new soldiers. A General has the most say over other Terrorwings outside of royalty. Even non-soldiers hold a lot of respect for them, and are expected to listen to their orders.
Terrorwings have a breeding program among their most elite soldiers, in order to produce strong dragonets. Advancing to a certain point in the ranks of a soldier automatically makes you a candidate for the program. If they are picked, they must cooperate, even if they already have an established relationship and dragonets. Offspring of the breeding program soldiers are "raised" by the Generals, and kept in the palace nursery.
Unless they are from the breeding program, Terrorwings are not the most involved in taking care of their eggs, and usually leave them in one place. Parents will take turns watching them, and they keep the eggs warm and protected by wrapping them in pelts.
Should a dragonet be born with firescales, they are to be turned over to the generals immediately. Firescales are raised to use their ability for war, and are considered valuable assets to the Terrorwing army. The fireless twin that usually results from a firescales egg is always killed.
The colosseum has recently become an integral part of Terrorwing entertainment. Spectators can watch fights and public executions for their enjoyment. Should one wish to prove themselves, they may also enter as a gladiator and rise in the ranks. Terrorwings entering fights must be prepared to lose their life, however, as mercy is optional.
Government
Terrorwings are ruled under a strict dictatorship. Only the Queen makes the rules and decisions, and the whole tribe must obey. There is no council, or any sort of advisors.
Rules of Society
Rules of the kingdom are created and instilled by the Queen. Every dragon is expected to obey, or be punished.
The rules are as follows:
1: Do not disobey, disrespect, or question the Queen and her authorities. Multiple offenses results in imprisonment.
2: Never forfeit a fight. Cowardice results in death.
3: Other tribes are inferior, do not allow them an upper-hand. Dispose of outsiders on the territory if necessary.
4: Crimes without good reason will be punished.
5: Do not leave the kingdom. Rogues will not be allowed to re-enter, and will be killed on sight.
6: Dragonets born with signs of weakness must be killed. Saving a dragonet that is to be killed is punishable by death.

Alliances
In the very distant past, Terrorwings were much more sociable with other tribes. However, over the years, their borders and sociability became tight and more restrained.
As of current times, Terrorwings have a bad relationship with the Mantawings. They often fight over fishing rights in the Terror Gulf.
Their relationship with Mothwings is tense, though the tribes do their best to keep things friendly. Both tribes have a trade agreement, with the Terrorwings providing rocks, minerals, gems, and livestock, while the Mothwings supply fruit and wood.
Terrorwings themselves don't consider the Mothwings as allies. They simply see the trade agreement as a "good deal" or feel that they are playing the Mothwings for fools by providing them useless rocks.
Terrorwings have recently been able to begin trade with the Aurorawings, swapping valuables like rare gemstones. Aurorawings have taken a fancy to the fossils found in the cliffs, which Terrorwings have no interest in, and will gladly give away for valuables. There is no physical contact, and all trades must be done at a drop-off point near the Aurorawing border. Terrorwings never even catch a glimpse of their reclusive trade partners, as they were instructed to simply place their crate down, and leave.
